REDE DE PESCA
Inspiration strikes all the time, continuously. REDE DE PESCA is an example of it. Born as an unconscious exploration of lattice patterns, it is Hal Trager’s latest piece ahead of his upcoming Brazilian exhibition. As many works do, it went unnamed during its early development. But here’s how creativity often works: a mundane sight changes everything. Something as small as the ripples on the water by a lake washed over Trager’s mind, connecting the multidimensional web of his work to waters abroad. Crossing seas — literally, in a way — REDE DE PESCA (eng. Fishnet) connects in multitudes, from images, to cultures and languages, as represented by the different styles and sizes of lattices on the optical illusion that is Trager’s work.
